With Pharrell Williams set to be issued with the CFDA’s 2015 Fashion Icon Award at the event next month (more on that, here), the Council of Fashion Designers of America have just revealed a snippet from the annual CFDA Journal, wherein model Joan Smalls is spied dressed up as Pharrell.
It seems that as Mr Williams’ many commitments kept him from making the official photoshoot (have you read about his collaboration with Woolworths, here?), Barnaby Roper has instead lensed Ms Smalls in the musician’s signature style – an out-of-the-box idea from creative director, Trey Laird.
The beauty is seen wearing the “Get Lucky” star’s custom Adidas Stan Smiths, tracksuit jackets and his infamous Vivienne Westwood hat, with the results just drenched in the man-of-the-moment’s brand of cool quirkiness.
The full range of images are to due to be revealed in time for the CFDA awards ceremony on June 1st (along with a Karl Lagerfeld-penned essay praising Williams’ style), but in the meantime, let us know what you think to Joan Smalls being dressed up as Pharrell Williams in the comments box below, or on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @SPICETVAFRICA.
