Jourdan Dunn Lands First British Vogue Cover

British beauty, Jourdan Dunn has been a busy girl, ending last year at the top of the model pile with a campaign alongside mega stunner, Naomi Campbell, and now she begins 2015 with news of her Vogue cover echoing around the internet.

Spied on the February’15 issue of Vogue Magazine, the shot marks Ms Dunn’s first time as cover girl for the mag’s British edition, with the job being a coveted one amongst models – not that Jourdan has’t had her fair share of those, having graced publications like i.D, POP and Elle, and having fronted campaigns for top brands like YSL and Burberry already. But there’s more to the achievement as this isn’t simply another Vogue cover, but the first cover in 12 years that the magazine has used a solo black model as its coverstar, with the last model of colour to grace it being Naomi Campbell back in 2002.

The cover, shot by Patrick Demarchelier, sees the long and lean-limbed Jourdan looking flirty with her blonde bob and sweet smile, and with her internet following (she has 963k on her Instagram) cheering her on and applauding this achievement, others online are highlighting the lack of diversity the publication continues to show.

While we at SPICE hope that 2015 will see a new attitude towards diversity from mainstream fashion powerhouses, we congratulate Jourdan Dunn on her first Vogue cover and can’t wait to see what other new ventures she will take on this year.
