Top model, Jourdan Dunn has been busy lately, and asides showing off her perfect body in Vogue’s latest editorial, has announced she’s secretly created a childrenswear collection to raise awareness of sickle-cell anaemia – a condition her son Riley suffers with.
The beauty, whose six-year-old also stars in the campaign, has teamed up with top British retailer Marks & Spencer to create the range, which is also her first ever design gig.
Entitled “Lil’ LonDunn by Jourdan Dunn” the collection is 22-pieces strong, and aimed at both boys and girls from the age five up to 16 years.
On highlighting the genetic disease and raising awareness for charities that are involved with it, Ms Dunn says;
“It’s something people don’t really know about, due to the fact it’s genetic, so it doesn’t have the high profile of HIV or malaria. Riley looks just like a normal boy, but I can’t get away from the fact he has a serious disease.”
So far, the lookbook and campaign have been kept under wraps, but the model told Sunday Times Style;
“My collection is inspired by London and has the cool, urban vibe that I look for when choosing clothes for Riley.
…I can’t wait to see the clothes on Riley and all his friends.”
Team SPICE love the model’s ambitious new venture – which sees her join Kanye West and Balmain as childrenswear designers – and we’ll be watching out for Jourdun Dunn’s full kidswear lookbook when it launches.
