Kalanne Ebiye-Koripamo of Kayge Cosmetics Shares Her Beauty Dos & Don’ts with SPICE

Kalanne Ebiye-Koripamo – that’s ‘Kay’ if you’re close – is the founder and creative director of Kayge Cosmetics and a certified makeup artist from the London School of Beauty and Makeup.

As well as her endeavours in beauty, Kalanne is also a graduate in Economics and the holder of an MBA, who is currently working as a quality assurance and quality control analyst with a dredging company.

We were able to get a few moments with the multi-tasking career chameleon, catching her thoughts on all things makeup and beauty. Read on to find out what Kay does “no matter the weather” and why you might want to add a red felt tip to your makeup bag…

SPICE: Hi Kalanne! What does beauty mean to you?
Kalanne: Beauty means grace, strength, character, flaws and fears. Being bold, diligent, being yourself and staying healthy.

What is your day-to-day beauty routine?
I cleanse, tone and moisturise my face and neck every morning and night, applying sun screen during the day and keeping my skin hydrated by drinking water.

Do you have a signature look?
No not quite – when it comes to make-up, it is always an expression of  how I feel at that particular moment.

What would be your must-have beauty product?
Kayge cosmetic’s lipgloss in “Passion” –  I can never go out of my house without my lips being protected. I’d feel too bare.

If we were to open your makeup bag, what brands and products would we find?
You will find various Kayge Cosmetics lip products, MAC, NYX and Bobbi Brown products, too.

What are your beauty dos and don’ts?
I never go to bed without taking off my makeup. My beauty do is to always apply sun screen, no matter the weather.

Whose makeup do you always admire?
I admire the work of Sam Fine – his work is simply amazing!

Can you please share an ‘oh no, I didn’t’ moment with us?

When I was much younger and was not allowed to use cosmetics, I got a red felt pen and painted my finger and toe nails to attend a friend’s birthday lunch. On getting home, my mum had a lot to say!

If you had to give a beauty tip/piece of advice, what would it be?

To use beauty products that contain natural ingredients as they would not only help beautify the skin but keep it healthy. A healthy skin is the perfect canvas.

If you could, what would you like to change about the beauty industry?

I would love to see more beauty and makeup products that are organically made.

Lastly, what is your beauty fantasy?

My beauty fantasy would be to have all the beauty products in the world on my dressing table – I love make up that much.
