Some of you might remember the winners of the 2014 Fayrouz L’Original competition, Team Elan, who walked away with a $20,000 grand prize earlier in the Summer (click here for a recap if you don’t). Now, their makeup artist Leila Rahman, who is also the proud owner of makeup outfit Leylarh Cadne, has released a makeup lookbook, showcasing bright, colourful and artistic face art.
The collection of images were shot by Horpload Works’ Tope Adenola, Emmanuel Oyeleke and Aham Ibeleme with results that showcase the beauty-whiz’s way with a makeup brush and palette. In fact, putting the ‘art’ in make-up artist, Ms Rahman creates unique and daring looks using models, Nneoma, Dami A, Moyin, Tracie Brymah, Catherine, Olabisi, Timi, the Lady Vhodka and Ettima Akpabio’s faces as her canvas, cementing herself as one of the makeup talents to watch.
A statement released for the lookbook says that its purpose is to show;
“…How skillfully she can spin the human face into a work of art with a stroke of a brush.”
And, from striking looks involving intricate brush strokes to classic looks in pink, purple and neutral hues – even bridal looks just in time for the Autumn wedding season – we at SPICE agree that the artist and results are quite remarkable.
