We’re all well aware that break-ups can be difficult and confusing. Spare a thought, then, for Liam Hemsworth and Miley Cyrus who are currently having their separation – after seven months of marriage – scrutinised by the world. So much so that Hemsworth has broken his silence on the topic, posting a candid message on Instagram to set the record straight.
“Just a quick note to say that Miley and I have recently separated and I wish her nothing but health and happiness going forward,” Hemsworth wrote on August 13, having posted a photo of a beautiful sunset. “This is a private matter and I have not made, nor will I be making, any comments to any journalists or media outlets. Any reported quotes attributed to me are false. Peace and Love.”
The couple, who got married on December 23 in an intimate ceremony at Cyrus’s Tennessee property after 10 years of on-off dating, announced their decision to separate earlier this week. Cyrus has also alluded to their split on Instagram. “Don’t fight evolution, because you will never win,” the singer wrote in the caption of a photo of herself on a hike. “Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable. The Dolomites were not created over night, it was over millions of years that this magnificent beauty was formed. My dad always told me, ‘Nature never hurries but it is always on time’. It fills my heart with peace and hope knowing that is true. I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own.” Another two pictures of Cyrus in the wilderness followed, with captions in the same contemplative vein, the day after her rep had made the announcement about the separation.
