Beautiful supermodel, Liya Kebede has just debuted her new collaboration with style destination Anthropologie – a collection that continues Liya’s charitable mission to improve maternal health worldwide and provide employment opportunities in her home country of Ethiopia.
The range of impressive homeware, which bares the label’s signature stripes in lightweight cottons, whites and bright colours, will see its proceeds donated in benefit of maternal health in developing nations, while the goods themselves are created by Ms Kebede’s team of locally-employed artisans from the city she was raised in, Addis Ababa.
Talking about the new capsule collection to Style.com, Liya said;
“The classic Lemlem stripes and colours have always made sense as home goods. When Anthropologie approached us with an opportunity to see our stripes in the bedroom, bathroom, dining room and beyond, it was a no-brainer that this could be a really fun collaboration!
We wanted this capsule collection to epitomise Summer – sunny and bright happy colours. Perfect for any beach home.”
The model, designer and humanitarian, who revealed the line will also include three “really beautiful” scented candles that remind her of home, said of her creations;
“Helping to provide a steady income for men and women in Ethiopia is definitely the most rewarding part of this work.”
While we at SPICE completely believe her, we bet getting to dress living spaces in the stylish collection is a close second.
