What more than pure African fabulousness do you expect when you hear two of the continent’s best designers have teamed up – more specifically, when it’s top talents Eki Orleans and Jose Hendo combining their greatness in the form of a collaborative new collection?
Bringing the Eastern and Southern regions together, Niggerian designer, Eki Orleans has teamed up with Ugandan label Jose Hendo to create an Autumn/Winter’15 collection titled “Identity“ – a range that sees both designers’ signature styles at play and brings to life a story in a bespoke print that documents life’s ever-changing experiences and responsibilities.
According to an official statement for the collection;
“There are two very strong design identities fused together, creating looks that are strong and bold, yet like a fingerprint, they are never identical.
There is constant change and transformation that occurs in life, which is reflected in this collection through the shapes and forms allowing multiple ways of wearing the garments.”
The fusion is seen via Jose Hendo’s signature bark cloth and the structural wool fabric, which we first saw at Kampala Fashion Week in 2014, while Eki Orleans’ infamous printed silks, which we spied up close at 2014’s Africa Fashion Week New York in September, are equally unmistakable.
