Nigerian label MXVV (Maxivive) has returned with a Spring/Summer’16 collection for those who love to wear pants – but more specifically, “he” who wears pants as the focal point of an outfit; pants that do more than just keep legs from being bare.
With styling by Tokyo James and photography by Ogoh Clement, model Seun Logan shows off the range of trousers and shorts, which are all wide and loose fit – also loosely reminding us of a Drake or Kanye album cover, with its unconventional scrawl motif-ed onto pockets.
But there’s more than just pants, with jackets and vests also in the mix, and making a case to ignore the bottom half of one’s look altogether.
Find the rest of the lookbook (and an accompanying poem) here below and then let us know what you think – whether MXVV’s “He Who Wears a Pant” collection is persuading you to buy a new pair of its trousers, or drop pants and go for one of the range’s jackets instead.
He Who Lives in a Pant
He is you, He is me.
Locked in his heart is pain untold.
He had free reigns but no where to go.
Thinking those walls holds on the answers.
To finds his balance in his favorite words;
Cocaine, Codeine,
Steroid, Girl, Happy,
Boy, Love, Murder 8,
Weed, Baby, Heaven,
Simple Sermon, Peace.
Yet, cold pure wind penetrates his soul.
Now that he feels good,
Give him something bad to look at.
As he counts the ceilings,
While he Lives in his pant.
