The Nigerian label formerly known for its cool printed tees, Tzar has revealed a new side, releasing the lookbook for its Autumn/Winter’14 collection, titled “Triumvirate of Vagrants.”
Featuring luxury fabrics of wool and organza, and complete with interesting metal finishes (padlocks for cufflinks, anyone?), the minimalist range was shot by photographer Akinlolu Osinbanjo, with creative director Ian Audifferen telling its backstory, saying;
“This collection is birthed from a story of the lives of three misunderstood vagrants on a never ending journey into an abyss of complacency. Black and off white are the defining hues. Off white wool with herringbone stripes tell of a continuous wandering habit superimposed with unpretentious sheer voil.
Black matted wool opens a dark cauldron of unsurety juxtaposed with organza. Each metal ring represents a triumvir of quirk, foible and vigour.“
And Tzar fans will have been surprised to see next to no print in sight, but can rest assured that the designer’s penchant for pattern persists and can be found sewn onto the backs of two black woven tees.
