Famed Peruvian fashion photographer, Mario Testino has been telling Style.com about the joys of Instagram, which he only caught on to in December last year, racking up over 450,000 followers to date.
Of the engagement the platform offers, Testino explained;
“Everyone’s always saying that a photographer shouldn’t give away his work, but I think [Instagram] elevates things.
I hear from people from all over the world who want to be a part of my ‘towel’ series.”
But the photographer also noted that the social network has taught him about focusing on the content he puts out, as opposed to an ‘end product,’ saying;
“I’m always telling people how it’s the journey that matters. For me, this is exactly it.”

Mr Testino went on to reveal that a new photographic book of his works, Sir, will launch next January. Slated for release in time for next year’s Paris men’s fashion week, the book will showcase the photographer’s pictures of men, alongside written contributions by writers who are, as yet, unnamed.

With the photography legend’s history of working with icons from the world of fashion and beyond – from Kate Moss and Princess Diana, to Madonna, Versace and Naomi Campbell, to name a small few – we at SPICE expect big things from the book and can’t wait to show it off on our coffee tables.
