As we begin a new month with a focus on all things ‘Heat,’ Team SPICE are pleased to present our hot new wardrobe infatuation – any of these stylish, wax print-inspired sweatshirts from Paris-born label, Maison Chateau-Rouge (“Castle Red House”).
The brand was birthed to celebrate the Paris neighbourhood it was named after, located in the 18th arr. of the city, explaining that;
“Through clothes that divert wax African traditional dress in contemporary style, the brand symbolizes the meeting of several cultures.
[With] a bold blend of the loincloth, the final piece of the traditional wardrobe of African women and a more urban style …the label is part of a broader social project, “The Migratory Birds.”

Funds from the limited edition collection, entitled “Beinvenue a Chateau-Rouge” will go towards The Migratory Birds project, with we at SPICE looking to snap up the “Hibiscus” sweat before it sells out like some of the other brilliant versions.
