Just as we enter October considering all things ‘Warrior’ – what with this month dedicated to the fight to raise awareness of Black History, Cancer and other charitable initiatives – Nigerian celebrities including Bovi and Sound Sultan have come together, to fight (well, play football) for StayInSchool Nigeria.
The project by the Young Minds Foundation aims to bring more children access to education, and merges philanthropy with fun and entertainment via an annual game dubbed ‘Football For a Cause.’
2015’s match will see celebs tackle the issue alongside brands and business owners across Nigeria, who will have the chance to play with the stars in a bid to raise money for out of school kids in the country.
This year, celebrities including AY, Bovi, Akpororo, Mr Raw, Sound Sultan, Rugged man, Mc Senator, Elenu, Teju Baby Face, Basorge, Do2dtun, Laugh Up, Funny Bone and more will be involved, with the charity soccer match planned to kick off at 2pm on the 18th of October, at Campos Mini Stadium.
If all goes well, StayInSchool Nigeria will reach their goal of raising the number of children they’ve supported from 300 to 500 by the end of this month.
