Mega-beauty Naomi Campbell has just been revealed as the newest member of cast of Fox’s drama, Empire marking the model’s new stint as a TV actress.
Directed by Lee Daniels – the Oscar-nominated talent behind Precious and The Butler – the show is about the power struggles and dramas experienced working on a hip hop record label, and will see Naomi take on the recurring role of Camilla, of which we can hope for great and fast-tongued things…
The supermodel said of her role;
“It’s an honour to follow in the footsteps of actresses like Halle Berry, Oprah, Gabourey Sidibe and Mo’Nique and work with Lee Daniels. I’m looking forward to joining Lee and this amazing cast on set.”
The director echoed the enthusiasm, saying;
“I am truly thrilled to have one of my close friends join us. Naomi is a beautiful actress. Underrated in my mind. She will be wonderful as Camilla.”
With Naomi, unbeknown to some, having quite a few acting roles to her name, we at SPICE predict brilliant things from the beauty on screen, since she’s rather experienced, having most recently starred in Indian drama Karma, Confessions and Holi. But, if her acting’s bad and her new role in Empire turns out to be a flop, we can always press pause and just marvel at her looks. Naomi’s got that down to a tee.
