Nigeria’s fastest rising star, Adebayo Oke-Lawal of Orange Culture has been selected to showcase at the internationally-esteemed trade show, Pitti Uomo in Italy – but is seeking backers in order to make an appearance, via a humble campaign on Kickstarter.
In a video appeal posted to the fundraising site on Friday, the menswear designer can be seen talking about his label and his achievements so far, calling for followers to support his journey to Florence, Italy, for the fashion and lifestyle event this June.
Bayo explains;
“Since I started Orange Culture, all my collections have been self-funded but now that we have such a short period of time to produce the collection for the trade show, we need your help.
We appeal to everyone of you to please donate something to this collection, (to) the production and to be a part of the Orange Culture journey.”
The Vogue, Marie Claire and ELLE-featured talent is aiming to raise £5000 for his Pitti Uomo visit, which comes just weeks after being shortlisted for the LVMH prize and making it through to the competition’s semi final in February – another prestigious landmark in Mr Okelawal’s short time in fashion so far.
With just 11 days left to get involved and just over £900 raised so far, we at SPICE wish Orange Culture the very best of luck with their campaign, and emplore followers of the brand to pledge something and help put Nigeria on the map.
