Singer, producer and man with a wardrobe we love, Pharrell Williams has just been announced as the new co-owner of denim label G-Star Raw, having just bought into the company.
The brand said in a statement that Mr Williams is;
“…Set to be immersed in the company on many creative levels, from collections, to advertising and business strategy.”
Meanwhile, Pharrell explains of his interest in the label;
“G-Star is an independently minded and forward-thinking company. I believe they will be the definitive jeans brand of the 21st century.
I am looking forward to be part of that mission and to co-create G-Star’s future.”
The sustainably-minded star has collaborated with the brand in the past, creating a line with G-Star and his Bionic Yarn brand in 2014, entitled “Raw for the Oceans” and made denim created with recycled ocean plastic. Williams also has collaborations with Uniqlo and Comme des Garcons under his belt.
The “Happy” singer revealed the news via his Instagram page, posting this pic with the caption;
“On top of my business. As of today, proud to be a co-owner of@GSTARRAW”
Team SPICE will look forward to all the forward-thinking, sustainable fashion to come from Pharrell’s new co-ownership and collaboration with G-Star Raw, and all the new denim staples we’re sure to fall for.
