Last week, the red carpets saw simple, chic looks and matchy-matchy outfits in attendance, with the colours red, white and black proving popular all over. From Ashanti in Dubai, to Michelle Obama in China and Naomi Harris seen looking sleek in London, here are our favourite looks of the week;
First up, Ashanti stepped out sexy in a strapless black dress at her Dubai album release party, and while it isn’t the most fabulous outfit we’ve seen all week, it’s the best we’ve seen the star in for a minute.
D’banj looked dapper at the launch of OneAgricCampaign in Abuja, rocking up fresh to announce the launch of his fresh new product – “Koko Garri” from his company, Koko Holdings Ltd. Guys, this is how to dress for business.
Next, Kris Jenner looked crisp in head to toe white as she attended singer Ciara’s baby shower. Of course chief Kardashian, Kris would be caught in spring/summer’s hottest trend…
And star of the event, Ciara arrived at her baby shower in Beverly Hills covering her baby bump nicely in a Naeem Khaan spring/summer’14 kaftan-like dress. We don’t know if it’s the glow of pregnancy or the gown, but with her natural beauty, Ciara looks amazing.
Bringing some more tailored vibes to our best-dressed list this week is actress Scarlett Johansson, who looked red-hot in a Michael Kors blazer and cropped trousers for the Captain America: The Winter Soldier premiere held last week in Paris. We just love to see a girl in a suit.
As well as being our SPICE Style Star of the week last week, Zoe Kravitz made our top 10 bet-dressed list for being such a breath of fresh air as she stepped out for the premiere of Divergent in LA. The usually cooler than cool star looked cute and girly in her off the shoulder Balenciaga dress, but added interest with a heap of jewels.
Classic beauty Anne Hathaway embraced bold colours at the Miami Premiere of Rio 2, wearing an orange and purple number from Roksanda Ilincic’s Pre-Fall’14 collection. We love that she let her dress do all the talking and didn’t over do it with accessories.
Michelle Obama looked fashionable, classy and proper, wearing a bright red dress with matching red pumps as she arrived to meet China’s president. Though we’re sure the meeting was important, we’re more concerned with Mrs Obama’s outfit, which fit her in all the right places and proved once again that The First Lady can do no wrong in style.
Model and actress Jaime King attended the Sandro Paris celebration held at Chateau Marmont in LA last Thursday, wearing a laid back look that we wish we had the abs for. The low key take on tailoring sees the star in smart, loose-fitting trousers, a cropped jumper and pops of red – and we at SPICE like what we see.
And lastly, it’s the beautiful Naomi Harris, who joined Michelle Obama, Scar-Jo and Kris Jenner to don a matching ensemble. Rocking a bright white skirt suit to the Bond in Motion exhibition in London, of course the actress made our list. What’s not to love about this outfit? It’s clean, it’s sleek and it’s hot. Simples.
