April is off to a stylish start, with major events – including galas, award shows, premieres and launches – bringing celebs out to do their red carpet rounds in top-notch looks we just love.
Below is our line up of the 10 best looks of last week, where new season trends like head-to-toe white, shades of blue and embellishment got noticed;
Starting off our list with a very ‘spring’ look, Nicole Richie and her new lilac ‘do attended the Lucky Fashion and Beauty Blog Conference in California, keeping to her typically cool style with a plain grey tee, J Brand leather jeans and a Givenchy Resort’14 floral blazer. This low key, high-impact look took centre-stage at the event and every item is now on our fashion wish-list…
British singer, Estelle might not be a fashion icon but she’s certainly caught our attention in this DVF eclectic-print maxi dress, which she wore to the brand’s award event last week. Styled with a dark green clutch and statement jewels, this has to be one of our favourite ever looks from the star.
Keeping to musicians, Nigerian rapper, Sasha P stepped out for the NdaniTV launch showing off her newly toned body in a red, long sleeve dress with a short slit. And who could ignore those spiked Christian Louboutin heels? #Hot.
Another fresh and simple look from Emma Watson stunned at the London premiere of Noah, for which the actress chose a flowing white gown from Ralph Lauren. We love that Ms Watson slicked back her locks and jazzed up the look with a few metallic accents. As usual, we think she looks gorgeous!
British-Nigerian actress, Sophie Okonedo kept things very simple and slightly seventies to attend the Broadway opening night for Lorraine Hansberry’s A Raisin In The Sun, in New York City. We are always pleased to see Ms Okonedo on the carpet because she brings a style that’s her own and never over-does it.
Alicia Keys went bold in blue for the DVF Awards, wearing a DVF jumpsuit which she paired with bright coral lips. It’s rare we don’t like what the singer wears and as usual, we were impressed.
Our Style Star from last week, Teyonah Parris brought fabulous hair vibes to the red carpet of the Mad Men 7 premiere in Hollywood. Crafting a directional faux-hawk to wear with her turquoise pencil dress from Philip Armstrong’s Spring’14 collection, we think the star looked trim and utterly classy.
Patricia DeJesus looked just royal at the amfAR Inspiration Gala, where she wore a deep-cut blue dress and wavy hair. Simple jewels and secret shoes helped her steal the limelight.
Supermodel, Naomi Campbell wore a white Givenhcy racer-front gown, enriched with embroidered details and a flowing fringed skirt for the amfAR Gala. It seems Naomi has a thing for wearing fringe at gala events, as she has worn similar pieces for the 2011 Met Gala and the 2011 amfAR Gala – not that we’re complaining, because it looks ridiculously hot.
Our last look on the list comes from country singer, Carrie Underwood who also stood out in fringe as she attended the Academy of Country Music Awards in an Oscar de la Renta gown, Jimmy Choo shoes and David Yurman jewels. A glowing beauty with a wardrobe we are now out to steal from. #Sigh
And there you have it – till next week, anyway, when we’ll have a whole new list of looks we’ve loved…
