The 2014 Africa Movies Academy Awards held its 10th anniversary on Saturday 24th of May, at the Dr Gabriel Okara Cultural Center in Bayelsa, Nigeria– bringing some of the best of Nollywood to its Sterling Bank red carpet, in all their glamorous garms.
For this week’s Red Carpet Roundup, we’re looking at some of our favourite looks from the night, including Rita Dominic’s, Ibinabo Fiberesima’s, Petronella Tshuma’s and others;
First up is veteran actor, Richard Mofe Damijo who looked younger and more dapper than ever before. We love how he seems to have shed some lbs and added oodles of ‘fresh’ to his look.
The ever young actress and President of the Actors Guild Nigeria, Ibinabo Fiberesima rocked an embellished red dress that showed off her banging curves – keeping cameras clicking and all eyes on her. The star completed her look with matching red lips and let her hair down for the event. #LoveIt.
Ghanaian actress and host, Joselyn Dumas took inspiration from Cleopatra for her hair and accessories, showing off some cleavage in a stunning black sequinned dress with daring cutout …Wow!
Although style diva Rita Dominic wasn’t at her best at the AMAAs, she still brought her gorgeous smile to the red carpet and changed things up by skipping her signature ‘fro. We’ve seen better looks on the star, but since she was still one of the best-dressed in attendance, we forgive her for keeping things a little ‘tame.’
Jackie Appiah stunned in a dress designed by herself, as she debuted her label, Jackie Appiah for the AMAAs. We love the silhouette, we love the embellishment and we are surely going to love her first collection. Go Jackie!
While this is not your usual ‘dapper’ red carpet look, Veteran actor Kenneth Okonkwo represented his heritage well in a white kaftan and matching red cap – so well in fact, that he made our list.
SPICE’s very own in-house stylist, Rekana Sharon Ojong brought Summer floral prints to the red carpet and looked beautiful while doing it, too. The fit, the fishtail, the face… What more can we say? #Flawless.
Mr Kanayo O. Kanayo looked like a million bucks in a well-tailored blue suit that he wore and knocked years off his age with. We love a guy who knows how to dress and this one proves style is eternal.
Young actor, Shawn Faqua looked hot in a metallic blazer and black ensemble, bringing a little glitz among the boys that made it to the AMAAs.
And lastly, South African actress, Petronella Tshuma was a dark princess in Rubicon, looking long, lean and utterly demure. We love how she wore her hair back and let the feathered shoulder steal the show.
