As we start off a new week, it is imperative (as always) to round up not just our favourite looks but the hottest celebrity ensembles from the week gone by – and, with stars going all out for the 2014 MAMAs in South Africa and for the 68th Annual Tony Awards in New York City, we’ve a whole heap of peeps to be gushing about.
Get into it, below;
Starting us off at the 2014 MTV African Music Awards (MAMAs) held in KwaZulu-Natal, SA last week, is South African model and entrepreneur, Bonang Matheba, who looked royally gorgeous, stunning onlookers in an emerald green number with sexy, embellished cutouts and an asymmetric shoulder cape. How better to kick off our list of unforgettable looks than with this one? #Wow.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians star, Khloe – who flew in for the MAMAs with her boyfriend, French Montana – made a sleek red carpet appearance in a drapey, metallic Lanvin gown that hugged her curves and accentuated her voluptuous body. We loved this.
African queen and soul singer Efya just knows how to make a memorable red carpet moment and for the MAMAs, she chose a body-fitting red dress that showed off her tiny frame, and as usual, was spied rocking braids in a high bun. Just brilliant, no?
White on white always looks fresh and is so on-trend for Spring/Summer’14. Showing us how to own the look is VJ Ehiz, who rocked his well for the MAMAs, pairing a white suit with a scarf print shirt and a hair band to keep his look clean. Fellas, do you rate it?
For the opening reception of the 2014 Maui Film Festival, Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o went bold in a custom-made stretch silk dress from Calvin Klein, which she styled with of-the-moment minimal, strappy shoes. We can’t help but love the colour-blocked hues on Lupita’s skin and we so want her Christian Louboutin Gwynitta sandals. Chic!
And still on bright, colour-blocked looks, we spied actor Samuel L. Jackson in a daring ensemble for Glamour Magazine‘s 2014 Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London. Rocking an aqua-hued suit from Richard James with a green tie and colourful printed shirt, we think Samuel looked amazing… Agreed?
Showing off a hot pair of legs, pretty makeup and sleek hair with a Martin Grant Spring’13 pleated playsuit, actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw stunned on the carpet at the London Premiere of Belle, looking beautiful as ever.
And absolutely slaying with her style, is celebrity stylist Rachel Zoe who wore a zebra print gown from Gucci for the brand’s beauty launch event last week. We love the silhouette, the print and the simple, chic styling. What can we say? She’s a pro.
Over at the 2014 Tony Awards, Anika Noni Rose radiated in a Badgley Mischka Fall’14 shoulder-baring, wispy number made of chiffon, and featuring a tiered skirt and super hot side slit. We love her braided updo and smokey eyes, which complimented the look so well.
And lastly, with her flawless makeup, simple bun, silk-velvet dress from Sophie Theallet’s Fall’14 collection, is British-Nigerian actress Sophie Okonedo, who did sensual so well with a modest plunging neckline. While this star can be a little hit and miss with her style, last week she certainly made our hit-list of hot looks, and we can’t wait to see what she steps out in next…
