The stars were out for the 2013 Headies this week, wearing and looking their best – but of course, we had our favourites.
From Tiwa Savage’s mega-watt style to Osas’ “Vampire Queen” look, below are a few of the outfits we applauded; the looks we loved and have spent good office time admiring…
First up is Funmi Iyanda in a show-stopping Iconic Invanity number. We love the print, we love the colour and we love how it fits her body. #GreatWork
Next we saw Emma Nyra in something short and shimmering, and were glad she provided us with a double take. She’s on-trend and looking ultra glam.
While on the night she wore a few looks, we preferred this sophisticated number by April by Kunbi. Skimming Ms Makinwa’s curves and enhancing her – um – assets, we think this dress suits Toke to a T. Though maybe next time, hair up?
This daring dress looks stunning on actress Osas and we just love how she’s left it to do all the talking, with minimal accessories, demure makeup and hair in a slick, low pony. She clearly knows what she’s doing style-wise and tweeted later that she felt like “Queen Vampire” in her outfit. #BowDown
Here, super careerist Yvonne ‘Vixen’ Ekwere shows off her beautiful blue Wiezdhurm Franklin dress, which left little to the imagination but dreams of having it in our own wardrobes to wear… #WeLikeItWeWantIt #LikeNOW!
Presenter Stephanie Coker played it well in a sumptuous Bond-girl-esqu gown – leaving heads turned and us at Spice pretty impressed. Perfect lady in red. (*We’re ignoring the yellow nail varnish).
Two men making the list for their mix of trad and trendy are artists Phyno and Olamide, seen here rocking matching black and gold looks to The Headies – complete with matching embellished shoes. We like a guy that isn’t afraid of a little bejewelling, or stepping out in something similar to their homie, so two thumbs up for that.
While we don’t know who she’s wearing we must sing this singer-song writer’s praises, as we really like the printed gown Zaina wore. Looking very much like spring and adding a little bit of fun to the carpet, we think the star looks great.
And lastly, the hostess with the most-est Tiwa Savage looked ah-ma-zing in her Mai Atafo sequinned tux – stealing the show in the style-stakes and ending the year on a high-shine high. Now we can’t wait to see what she rocks on the red carpet first for 2014…
