As we come to the end of July, this last week seems to have been crammed full of stars showing off the power of print, with most attending movie premieres and making photocells in patterned garments.
Below is a recap of the most stylish looks of the week;
First up is soon-to-be mother, actress Zoe Saldana who was glowing in a lively floor-length gown from Valentino’s Resort’15 collection. Rocking the look to the Guardians of the Galaxy premiere in London, Ms Saldana styled her hair in romantic waves to give a full feminine touch, to the applause of Team SPICE. #LoveIt.
Fellow actress, Danai Gurira of The Walking Dead, attended the 2014 Comic Con International event wearing a gorgeous form-fitting floral print, paired with a covetable pair of strappy sandals. We love this polka dot take on floral print and the deep dark shade of the fabric.
On Saturday 26th of July, Thandie Newton attended the Audi International Eventat Guards Polo Club wearing Nigerian designer, Eki Orleans’ Autumn/Winter’13 mini dress. As reported by every site out there, Ms Newton did the dress justice – which is big news for the brand, so congrats to its team.
It was also all about prints for June Ambrose, who wore hers to the A Most Wanted Man premiere, via a Marni “Sakura” dress. Paired with a Marchesa “Valentina” floral embroidered clutch, Ms Ambrose did lady-like the luxe way, looking beautiful with that mega watt smile.
Kat Graham was spied at the Vampire Diaries press event wearing a Cut25 by Yigal Azrouel Pre-Fall’14 ensemble, made of a navy and cobalt printed neoprene top and trouser set, paired with Jerome C. Rousseau pumps. We love the look and her wavy bob.
49-year old actress Vivica A. Fox showed off her ridiculously toned legs for the Hercules LA premiere, wearing a Hervé Léger A-Line dress, accented by Jimmy Choo suede platform sandals. The ensemble looked as fresh as the star’s figure, with both having us turning all shades of green with envy… 49?! #Wow.
Irish-Nigerian actress and blogger, Ashley Madekwe turned up chic to the Comic-Con event last week, wearing a Christian Dior Spring/Summer’14 printed skirt dress and tiny-strapped heels. We at SPICE love her perfectly-executed yet pared down makeup, which completes her look elegantly.
Ghanaian actress, Juliet Ibrahim hosted the 2014 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) alongside comedian Basketmouth on Saturday 26th July, held at the Eisemann Centre, Texas, USA. And, wearing two dresses from Ghanaian designer, Ophelia Crossland Designs, the star looked stunning. We just can’t pick a favourite.
And Nigerian-American singer Emma Nyra also graced the AFRIMMA red carpet, wearing a black dress with rich detailing by House of Khareed. Lastly, American actress Rosario Dawson attended the launch of supermodel Chrissy Teigen and Pilsner beer brand’s Stella Artois video series, titled “The Butcher, The baker, The Belgian Beer Maker,” held at the Financier Patisserie in New York. Wearing designer Aisha Obuobi of Christie Brown’s signature bib, a-top a floral print green maxi dress, we love the fun, Summery look and how Ms Dawson’s rocking one of our favourite African designers. What can we say, we’re biased…
