December is here and we at
SPICE are in celebration mode, what with so many super events occurring ahead of Christmas and the end of the year – like this week’s just concluded ELOY and Channel O Music Video Awards on the continent, and the 2014 British Fashion Awards held on December 1st in London.
As usual, we were out spying on the style of our favourite celebs, and here’s our top 10 of the best looks about on the red carpets of these glamorous events;
Firstly, can we talk about stunning OAP, MTV Base’s Stephanie Coker, who won the 2014 ELOY ‘TV Presenter of the Year’ and stepped out looking regal in the royal hue of emerald green, wearing a piece by Otumemine. We at SPICE love the long sleeves on the gown but what really got us was the colour. #Gorgeous!
Another vixen in lace, ‘TV Actress of the Year,’ Osas Ighodaro looked flawless at the ELOYs, wearing a Tai Beni gown. Everything from the deep black to the sheer front had us hooked, but those contrasting finger tips and the swept-back hair tied it altogether.
And our very own SPICE Red Carpet producer, Sharon Ojong looked great, ditching her short natural hair for a bob and glittering number by Aqua. We love it and she looked like a million dollars.
Also on form as usual, as we move on to the looks on the red carpet at the British Fashion Awards, gorgeous singer Rihanna went braless (surprise) and leggy, in a velvet Stella McCartney jacket worn as a dress. Strutting her stuff in a pair of tights and sexy heels, the star accessorised with Jessica McCormack diamond earrings and a choker, stealing the show like only she does. #OhToBeRihanna.
Model Naomi Campbell looked perfect and graceful in an Alexander McQueen gown, which came with stroppy detailing to the front. The dress was simple and ridiculously elegant and we at SPICE are satisfied with the look, even if it was one of Ms Campbell’s less daring ensembles.
Playing with print, Naomie Harris kept her look gorgeous and colourful, rocking a short patterned shift dress with strappy heels. The effect? Beautiful.
Going all the way with sexy though, model Joan Smalls showed off her slim physique in a Tom Ford dress with cut-out panelling. The body, the eyes – and did we mention the body? Ms Smalls surely had everyone at hello with this look.
And Joan’s model colleague, Jourdan Dunn looked radiant with her blonde bob and black laced jumpsuit, which she quirkily put together with pointed courts and a box clutch. We can’t say we didn’t like it.
And, back at the 2014 African Video Music Awards, Nigerian singer Emma Nyra glowed in a custom-made dress by her stylist, Chyna Bee, who got the shade of blue just right to make a statement. We loved the look, as mentioned in our #StyleSpecial you can read , and now can’t wait to see what else is in the star’s wardrobe… here
Another stand out look for us came from media personality, Khanyi Mbau who looked strong and fabulous in her bright orange two-piece – an unforgettable ensemble that was hot from head and hat, to toe.
And that’s it – our roundup of the 10 best looks on the red carpet recently. But did your favourite look make our list? Let us know on Twitter via @SPICETVAFRICA or in the comments box here, below.
