While we’re celebrating a love of fashion here on the site this month, with Valentine’s Day and the start of Fashion Weeks both taking residence in February, there’s been a lot to keep us in admiration, and last week’s red carpets were no exception.
If we must say, it seems last week was the most eventful week of 2015 so far with stars from the music, fashion, TV and film industry stepping out for the 2015 Grammys (see our Style Special on that,
), the New York Fashion Week Autumn/Winter’15 shows, the 2015 amfAR Gala, movie premieres galore, the NBA All Stars Weekend, NAACP Image Awards and the 2015 BAFTAs. here Phew!
Well, we kept watch and have sought out 10 of the best looks from the entire week. See them here in our Red Carpet Roundup, below;
Kick-starting our list is actress Cate Blanchett, who is known for her timeless style but did not shy away from wearing a bold, double-take-worthy look for the Berlin International Film Festival. Promoting new flick Cinderella, the star was seen wearing a patch-worked, sequin number by Givenchy which we at SPICE totally fell for.
Rihanna – our Style Star of last week (see, ) looked like a delicious cupcake at the 2015 Grammys, rocking one of the most polarising looks of the night. While some weren’t sure about the look, Team here SPICE loved it (see what other looks form the night left us questioning though, ) and thought that the star fully pulled off the bold, pink tulle Giambatista Valli gown, completed perfectly with her hair pulled back and her face full of flawless makeup. Here, Badgal Rih looked here good… to us, anyway.
Also at the Grammys, Nicki Minaj spared no cleavage to look hot in Tom Ford and gave us another reason to just love how the star’s style has gone from ‘Barbie’ to elegant.
Moving on to the amfAR Gala held on February 11th, beautiful Alberta native and model Grace Mahary slipped on a shaggy fur over a rose-printed Sophie Theallat dress that turned heads with its short tail. For us, it was the palette of this ensemble that caught our attention, plus the play with the elegant and the glamorous. Chic…
Nigerian supermodel and founder of ANTM, Oluchi Orlandi was also present at the event, wearing a black gown with an embellished bodice. We love how she kept her makeup and hair very simple and natural, and who the look showed off her slim physique.
Rocking the black carpet like no other though, Ms Naomi Campbell shone bright with her Harry Winston diamonds and one-shouldered gown. That thigh slit did not go unnoticed and the purple hue just looks gorgeous against her skin. Fire!
Hot on Naomi’s heels though in a similar look, fast-rising supermodel, Kendall Jenner was all kinds of stunning in a red Romona Keveza dress and matching red pout. Those nude and embellished heels completed this look perfectly and that swept back hair? The right decision. #Beautiful.
Another iconic model stepped out for the amfAR Gala too: Iman, who looked bold and flawless as ever in a bold Balmain look from the brand’s Spring/Summer’15 collection. We don’t know what we love more – the outfit or the look of the outfit on the supermodel…
Scandal star, Kerry Washington rocked a polka dot Dolce & Gabanna dress, which featured flared, three-quarter length sleeves and a hemline that hit just above the knee, for The Limited Collection Inspired by Scandal ‘Spring Shopping Event’ las week, which she completed with her monochromatic heels by Sophia Webster. The red accents help make this look pop and once again Ms Washington proves she can do no wrong with her wardrobe.
And lastly, at the 2015 BAFTAs in London, UK, South African actress Gugu Mbatha-Raw was seen in a lavender Prada lavender with a sexy, embellished, criss-cross back, giving us all sorts of princessy vibes. Will the starlet ever put a foot wrong on the red carpet? Doesn’t seem likely, and we look forward to seeing what else she wears this year.
