Remedies For Smelly Feet

Smelly feet can be embarrassing and sometimes make you feel insecure about yourself. We give you five homemade recipes that will help you control smelly feet, while you regain your self confidence and take on your day to day activities like a boss.

There are more sweat glands in our feet than the rest of our body. Foul odor from the feet is caused when bacteria from the skin breaks down sweat as it comes from the pores, which is not able to evaporate as a result of poor air circulation.

Talc powder

Applying Talc powder on your feet helps keep your feet dry and control sweat, which will in turn prevent the foul odor that often comes from the feet.

Apple cider vinegar

Vinegar is a good and effective way to get rid of feet smell because it contains acidic elements that bacteria cannot live in. Pour half a cup of vinegar in a bowl large enough for both feet to fit in comfortably, dilute with 3-4 cups of hot water, then place both feet in the solution for 15-20 minutes. Wash your feet with desired soap, rinse off and pat dry.

p.s any type of vinegar can be used in the absence of apple cider vinegar.

Natural Cedar wood insoles

Black Tea

Black tea helps close your pores which will in turn reduce sweating on your feet. It also contains Tannic acid which kills bacteria. Boil 2-3 tea bags of black tea in 4 cups of water and dilute with 6-8 cups of room temperature water. Soak your feet in this mixture for 15-20 minutes and then rinse off.

Clean and air your shoes regularly and wear cotton socks.

Cleaning your shoes regularly gives it the ability to breath. The accumulated sweats are allowed to escape when your shoes are properly aired. Cotton socks on the other hand are thicker than normal socks, which in turn absorbs sweat compared to lighter socks. P.s make sure you change your socks after one wear, to keep your feet and shoes smelling fresh ans .

 

Bonus tip.

Wash your feet regularly with antibacterial soap to keep them fresh and bacteria free.
