Pop queen of style, Rihanna has been busy getting her business on lately, and has just announced that she will be launching a new styling, hair and makeup agency, called Fr8me – as well as a cool new photo agency entitled The Dog Ate My Homework.
The styling agency, which will be co-managed with her partner Benoit Demouy, will be based in LA and will assist stylists in booking commercials, shoots, campaigns and red-carpet contracts, with the singer saying;
“Hair, makeup and styling play an important role in creativity. I am very involved with that part of my process, so this agency was an organic thing for me to do.”
So far, top talents have been desperate to sign up, with artists already on board including the star’s longtime makeup artist Mylah Morales, hairstylists Patricia Morales and Maricia Hamilton (who style the tresses of Evan Rachel Wood, Fergie, Jada Pinkett Smith and the Smith family), plus Taraji P. Henson’s wardrobe stylist Jason Bolden.
Of the roster so far, the Anti singer says;
“We are lucky enough to have some of the best artists at Fr8me but I also have a soft spot for finding new talent with extraordinary skills!”
Of the photo agency, launched in conjunction with Fr8me, a similar story is unfolding, with photographers Erik Asla and Deborah Anderson already signed up.
Rih’s partner Demouy said;
“Our goal is to have a stellar reputation. The industry’s changed so much — rates have gone down, and clients just grab images off social media, trying to bypass paying artists. But we’re concerned with social media, too — we’ll take a makeup artist with 500,000 followers over someone else.”
We at SPICE can’t wait to see what comes from Rihanna’s new ventures and wish her every success – but tell us what you think to the star’s photography and styling agencies, and which talents you predict to sign up to Fr8me and The Dog Ate My Homework next.
