Since the announcement last October that British singer Rita Ora would be designing a collection for Adidas, her followers have been bombarded with shots of the star rocking outlandish pieces by the brand head to toe. Finally though, Rita has revealed a sneak peak of what’s to come from her line, captioning her tell-all Instagram pic;
“It’s official my first collection for Adidas!!! Yes finally! Me and my team have worked so hard together to create the best sexiest coolest sportswear possible.”
As the first female musical artist ever to collaborate with Adidas, the upcoming collection – set to launch August 21st – is a big deal, with Ms Ora telling press;
“I’m a massive fan of the brand. I grew up working at a sneaker store when I was 16 and am a huge sneakerhead. It’s so cool that I’m able to do this with a brand that I sold when I was younger.”
Adidas’ design director, Josefine Aberg explained the “RIP” singer’s involvement, saying;
“She has a great way of mixing fashion and streetwear and has a big love for the brand, and it was obvious that we needed to work with her.”
The range, which will be released as five capsule collections, starting with the “Black” line, will be available to buy via Adidas Originals stores next month, and will include clothing, footwear and accessories.
Till then, we at SPICE wait anxiously to see how the range compares to fellow Adidas collaborators’ collections (like those of Stella McCartney, David Beckham and fellow singer Pharell Williams), but from the look of that bold, flower-emblazoned jacket, we expect big – and very bright – things.
