We know Rome wasn’t built in a day, or better still Obi Obadikwe wasn’t built in a day. American born fitness icon Obi Obadike wasn’t born with toned abs, and rock solid bod. Like every other individual who has achieved greatness in their career path, Obi suffered some really low blows, and why we have chosen him as Spice #MCM is because of how he continued to bounce back on his feet, despite being faced with different challenges.
We are all familiar with the saying “when life gives you lemons, you make a lemonade” that is exactly what obi did as a child when he was constantly verbally abused in high school for being skinny, he took all that negative vibe and began working out and at the age of 16 he kicked off his fitness journey, and by the time he was 18 he began to pursue a career as a successful model, but obi wanted more. He had always wanted to be a pro athlete, so he set his mind to it. By the time he was in his second year of college he had set new records as a sprinting athlete, he showed no signs of slowing down.
“You can have great wisdom, knowledge, power and money in the bank but if you don’t have the ability to use it and influence others, then it means absolutely nothing”
Once again life gave Obi some unpleasant lemons, the kind that probably made very unpleasant lemonades. By the time Obi was 24 years old he had suffered multiple career hindering injuries that meant obi had to give up on his dreams of becoming a pro athlete. But once again, obi found a way around those unpleasant lemons and made the best lemonades ever, the ones that made him one of the most sought after fitness influencer in the world years later.
Despite Obi’s career setback as a a pro athlete he kept on working out intensively, he then decided to pursue his career as a fitness model once again. By 2009 obi had landed top deals with reputable magazines, He became the first American fitness model to land a major European advertising campaign, and first American fitness model to be featured in a natural bodybuilding magazine in Australia.
Obi continued to excel in his new career path, In 2010, Obi entered and won the WBFF World Championship. At this point he still didn’t stop there, he went to become a writer, celebrity fitness trainer, model and influencer and host of writer of over a hundred published articles, nutrition expert, co-host of award winning TV show; lifestyle magazine. Year after year obi continued to excel in his career path.
