Thithi Nteta has a CV that reads ‘like a messy love story with multiple lovers’ – with media being an industry she clearly loves to be involved with. In fact currently, Thithi works full-time as a writer, blogger, project manager, stylist and publicist for The Wknd Social, which explains why she is so insanely organized if not a little over-stocked with cool things to do.
You can imagine our joy when this dedicated, busy careerist spared us an itsy-bitsy part of her hectic schedule to talk to us, but read on to find out what gorgeous Ms Nteta keeps in her makeup bag, plus what humble beauty fantasies she keeps;
SPICE: What does beauty mean to you?
Thithi: Beauty means being effortlessly you and being more of yourself – it is about bringing out and highlighting.
What is your day-to-day beauty routine?
I use a cleanser and toner, and apply coconut oil to my face. I also use coconut oil as a make up remover.
Do you have a signature look?
My make up look is very simple: black liquid liner with a tiny flick on the end, mascara and a lip color.
What would be your must-have beauty product?
Mascara from NYX or Maybelline (I don’t have eye lashes so I need mascara) and an under eye concealer from Bobbi Brown – I have dark circles so that is an essential in my beauty bag.
If we were to open your makeup bag, what other brands and products would we find?
Lots of MAC lip colour, Elizabeth Arden lip colours (which are amazing and filled with moisture) and Bobbi Brown products.
What are your beauty dos and don’ts?
I like to focus on do’s; do make your eyebrows look natural, do contour in the right places and do wear a lip colour to make you feel good when you are feeling down.
Whose makeup do you always admire?
Anyone who looks fresh-faced and polished.
Can you please share an ‘oh no, I didn’t’ moment with us?
I haven’t really had those… I have had a mismatched foundation moment before, but who hasn’t? (Lol).
If you had to give just one beauty tip or piece of advice, what would it be?
Make sure your foundation or concealer is a good match. Natural vs pencilled in eye brows? Natural wins.
What is your beauty fantasy?
Very simple and boring – to not have any under eye dark circles.
If you could, what would you like to change in the beauty industry?
More foundation colour options across product ranges for women with darker skin.
