Stella Jean is known for telling stories with her collection. During the debut of her ready to wear spring/summer collection at Millan fashion week 2017, she revamped the the Cholitas attire. The Italian designer decided to celebrate her long time friendship born during the 11th Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 between Luz Long and Jesse Owens, notwithstanding the racist regulations imposed on German athletes by the Nazi regime.
Stella Jean paid tribute to Owen who won four gold medals during those Olympic games, she layered a sport bib with Owen’s 733 number on many of the looks. The entire collection is compared to watching a sports couture show, and it was Stella who made that happen. Asides from all the sports aesthetics showcased on the runway, Stella Jean could not resist but throw in her iconic African printed fabrics on the runway.
Take a look at the outstanding collection that has us gushing all over it.
