While Men’s Fashion Week kicked off loudly last Friday and has been busy tearing through the news, online fashion bible, Style.com have announced the Top 25 People Who Matter Most in Menswear, with designers Charlie and Joe Casely-Hayford on the list.
Starring alongside top talents like Heidi Slimane, Rick Owens and Raf Simons, the father and son duo at Casely-Hayford is a co-designership that counts Drake, Michael Fassbender and a industry’s worth of insiders as fans.
The label’s founder, father Joe, told Style;
“As a black kid in Britain, I was on the outside looking in, initially. So I remember being chased down the King’s Road by rockers, and then a few years later, I was being chased up it again, but by skinheads… I’ve always been fascinated by English society.”
Stylist Charlie Casely-Hayford, who has styled celebrities like US rapper Nas, was also last week announced as one of GQ’s 50 Best Dressed Men for 2015, proving that the father and son’s strengths in fashion are as deeply rooted as their connection to each other.
We at SPICE are certainly fans of the label, who’ve previously appeared on our list of runways to watch (see here), and are so impressed by what they showcased at this season’s London Collections that we are certain they’ll make it onto our forth-coming Runway Rundown this week.
In the meantime, congratulations are in order for Joe and Charlie Casely-Hayford for making it onto Style.com‘s list as some of the top 25 People Who Matter Most in Menswear – not that we’re all that surprised to see them on someone else’s radar.
