Releasing a new book full of striking black and white images, style icon and singer Lenny Kravitz turns photographer and reveals yet another thing he’s super good at.
Sharing insight into his tome, titled Flash, which sees the paparazzi as his subject, Lenny explains to i.D Magazine that he got into cameras as child because “they looked like these magical devices,” and chose to photograph his fans, followers and the paps in;
“…A defensive move at first, but then it became an exercise.
Normally the people are a bit confused at first but then they just keep on shooting. They seem to find it amusing.”
Mr Kravitz, whose daughter Zoe is busy topping our best-dressed lists and carving a name for herself in the world of film and music, also revealed that;
“When shooting loved ones I am not on the move and take the amount of time needed to capture something interesting and beautiful.”
– adding that his favourite image is;
“A photograph of my mother taken by my father in the mid sixties. It is a beautiful black and white portrait taken on a Leica.”
Turns out Lenny Kravitz is a man of many hats. Find his photography book, Flash for $45 here.
