The Looks We LOVE from the 2016 SAG Awards

Saturday night, the 30th of January, saw the 2016 Screen Actors Guild Awards (aka, the SAGs) take place in Los Angeles, with Hollywood stars like Viola Davis, Laverne Cox and Eva Longoria turning up in their best ensembles of the year.

Of course, we at SPICE have our opinions on the outfits and the styles that turned up to the event – but below are the looks we unanimously loved.

Viola Davis

Winner of the ‘Best Actress in a Television Drama’ award on the night, Viola Davis wore a beautiful Zac Posen dress in a mushroom shade that we suddenly want in our wardrobe. We love the silhouette of this gown and its hint of cleavage with its on-trend cape detail.

Helen Mirren

Dame Helen Mirren glowed in her Jenny Packham, picking a palette works with her platinum hair colour and a few shining accessories. This is sequins done with class.

Laverne Cox

Laverne Cox steals the spotlight yet again, with another goddess-like gown that elevates her wardrobe status. We adore the hue of this Prabal Gurung dress, and we adore the way it’s falling from her figure… In fact, we seem to be falling further for the star (or her stylist) every time she sets foot onto the red carpet.

Brie Larson

Following Versace’s Spring/Smmer’16 Couture showcase last week, we’ve been obsessed with all the dresses we’ve spied from the collection ever since, which have appeared on red carpets via a few lucky celebrities so far. And, rocking this fun sky blue number fresh from the runway, is Brie Larson, who appears chinched in all the right places and looking super cute.

Queen Latifah

‘Outstanding Female in a TV Movie/Mini Series’ winner, Queen Latifah stepped and made the right type of impact. Yes, it’s all black but there’s a print at play amongst those sequins and the silhouette is a subtle sort of sexy. And with her hair pulled elegantly to the thop of her head? We dig it.

Eva Longoria

Eva Longoria was giving us subtle Kim Kardashian vibes with her sheer, plunging look – but we adore the outfit on her petite frame and the shade against her skin. We also like the way the actress parted her hair and kept it back from her face

…And then there was the back shot – also wow.

Sofia Vergara

Sofia Vergara hit the red carpet, radiating in a hot pink custom gown by Vera Wang. Of course, her famous curves caught our attention, but in the pop of pink? We were blown away.

Uzo Aduba

Uzo Aduba looks amazing in this hue and turns us a similar shade with the way the gown fits her frame. We also love the pleats and subtle stripe print, plus the way her hair’s coiffed to curled up ‘do perfection.

Clare Danes

Clare Danes sizzled despite her fairly simple look, and we think the key is lies in the way her Stella McCartney gown skims her body. Also beautifully chic is the blue palette and small amount of colour-blocking to the bust, which all looks great against her fair complexion.

Alicia Vikanda

The Danish Girl actress, Alicia Vikanda wore a patch-work of sequins by Louis Vuitton, and landed on our list of best-dressed because it fitted just beautifully.

We also admired the way it shone on the red carpet with its shimmering, interesting geo-print.
