While there are literally hundreds of style blogs and fashion troopers walking the globe, there is a tribe of exceptional digital stars who’ve shown so much excellence in their style that we at SPICE consider them the Digital Mothers of Style.
Whether you’re looking for more wardrobe inspiration or simply purvey wardrobes as a pastime, check out these 9 leaders of the personal fashion landscape (actually there’s 10 listed, but of 9 sites) – the bloggers and social media stars making us rethink or day-to-day.
1. Claire Sulmers
A recent star of our Digital Diaries series, Ms Sulmers is one of the most charismatic writers in the fashion blogosphere, but her look is also unmistakable.
Famed for her long blonde dreads, the New York-based multi-lingual fashionista is behind one of the most influential style blogs in the world, Fashion Bomb Daily, which launched in 2006.
The It–girl and her colourful outfits are on everyone’s fashion list, with Claire not only serving stylish combos with frequency, but stepping out to Fashion Weeks worldwide, from New York to Australia and beyond – recently taking her sell-out ‘Cocktails with Claire’ event to Lagos, Nigeria where Team SPICE caught all the behind the scenes action (see the trailer below).
Her site dishes fresh, engaging content from an informed point of view, leaving no wonder she has over 2.4 million monthly visitors and has bagged a number of awards over the years. But check her out and see what you think.

2. Ezinne Chinkata
Nigerian blogger, stylist and style socialite Ezinne Chinkata spends a good chunk of her time making the right fashion decisions – not just for her clients, including Kate Henshaw, Ini Edo, Monalisa Chinda and more, but for herself too.
All evidence of her canny way with clothes can be found on her blog Zinkata, which is also the name of her store, selling all the best wears from the local scene.
The store and Ms Chinkata’s styling skills are much-loved, but she’s well worth following for her bravery in taking fashion risks and pulling them off without fail. See a little of Ezinne in action in our clip from Digital Diaries here below.
