If you are Nigerian then you would probably be as hyped up as we are, the Nigerian Super Eagles team did not only qualify for the 2018 FIFA World Cup which is holding this year in Russia but they are set to take the field in style.
That is a 100 for us, what more could we ask for, bring the cup home and look dap while at it. Nike unveiled the new Super Eagles World Cup Kit and everyone is going crazy about it, there is something so Je ne se quois’ about the entire kit, from the bright green and white zig zag pattern across the main part of the body with contrasting sleeves on the home shirt to the dark plain away jersey that has a similar resemblance to the previous one.
It’s high time monuments were erected in Alex Iwobi’s name, his 73rd minute strike gave room for this kit and we have him and the entire Super Eagles team to thank for that.
In all this excitement, it would be wrong not to acknowledge Nike’s effort in putting together a kit that is World class and also relate-able to the people, in Nike’s official press release, the man of the moment ‘Alex Iwobi said
‘I grew up in England, but Nigeria is my homeland. When I scored that goal, the players were dancing, the fans were playing trumpets and bringing drums… there was just so much passion and energy.
It is always an honor to wear the white and green. To compete this summer is not just our dream, it is also the dream of our fans. Together, we all represent Naija!’
While we await the FIFA World Cup in excitement, we can only wish that the Nigerian team would bring the cup back home in style.
