As fashion penetrates more into the Nigerian society, young promising creatives are nit waiting for this industry to be reach its full potential before they tap into it and make a name for themselves. Over the years, youths have focused their attention to more 21st century jobs, fashion being the prime of it.
This 19 year old is not only a budding designer but one who has shown distinct creativity in what he does. Toafeek Abijako is the Creative Director of Head of State and he knows exactly how to keep us on our toes, his A/W 18 collection, Brotherhood, at NYFW which was a pop of colors, featuring casual wear for men. Speaking to Konbini, Taofeek says
“I’m not necessarily focused on filling a gap in the industry, for me it’s more of focusing on the storytelling the brand is about: presentation of ideas without constraint.
My work is a reflection of who I am and that’s interwoven with my cultural upbringing.”
