Fashion films are one of the various ways to communicate the vision of a designers collection. By 2019, online video will account for 80 percent of all consumer Internet traffic, according to California-based technology giant Cisco. Many fashion brands has adapted the art of film to showcase their latest collection with a unique story that best represents the collection. Our main focus today will be on luxury fashion brand Prada, as we countdown to our top 3 favourite short films from them.
Past Forward.
Past forward is a silent black and white film written and directed by the talented David.O. Russelin 2016. The story is that of a woman trapped in a suspenseful dream. staring Allison Williams, Freida Pinto and Kuoth Wiel portraying the same role.
The Therapy.
Written and directed by Roman Polanski, starring Ben Kinsley and Helena Boham Carter. The short Film was released on the 20th of May 2012, Ben Kingsley played the role of a therapist who becomes intrigued by his wealthy clients Prada coat during a session.
Castello Caval Canti.
This Fashion short film is written and directed by Wes Anderson. Starring Jason Schwartzman, as an unsuccessful race car driver who crashes his car in an Italian village.
First Spring.
Directed by Fu-Dong Yang, this Contemporary short film was released in 2010. The story is about two yung men dressed in contemporary Prada menswear , as they travel through the typical westernized parts of Shangai.
Candy
Shot by Wes Anderson and Roman Coppola in 2016. The short film is a story of a modern French woman who meets two best friends and finds herself in a dilemma as she cannot seem to choose between the two men as both of them fight over her.
