As campaign and lookbook season is well underway, it’s like fashion right now is renewing its It-girl book, with many up and coming models moving into the forefront.
While we’re not telling Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls or Naomi Campbell to move over, we are saying “watch out world” as the industry plants some new faces in front of the lens for 2016 – the ones that we’ll be seeing a lot more of this year, as detailed in our list below…
1. Yasmin Wijnaldum
Dutch teen, Yasmin Wijnaldum has just been revealed as Prada’s newest face, rocking the campaign for the brand’s Spring/Summer’16 collection with her flowing locks and elegant beauty.
The 17-year-old who has walked Fashion Week ramps for designers like Kenzo and Lanvin seems to have come out of nowhere almost to land such a role, but is certainly worthy of the achievement, given the balance of grace and freshness she brings to the ad. We think she’s certainly a name to watch out for.

2. Aamito Stacie
We all know and love Aamito, and have bee routing for her ever since she won Africa’s Next Top Model back in 2013. But having appeared in Marc Jacobs’ Autumn/Winter’15 campaign and been enlisted to walk for other designer names like Burberry and Edun’s catwalks, we can just tell she’s about to nail 2016.
We’re expecting big things from the Ugandan and her beautiful looks, so will keep a keen eye on her progress.

3. Willow Smith
So Wilow was announced as the new signing to The Society Management last year – the long-limbed signer having signed with Adriana Lima and Kendall Jenner’s agency following many editorials with top photographers and a successful stint as campaign star for Marc Jacobs’ Autumn/Winter’15 collection.
With her brother Jaden just announced as the star of Louis Vuitton’s womenswear campaign for Spring/Summer’16 though, she may find herself with a little friendly competition, but we’ll be looking forward to seeing the young star make her move into modelling, because we can see it’s certainly in the family blood line.

4. Lameka Fox
Having been recruited via IMG scouting team, through their Instgram account @WeLoveYourGenes, the finely-faced Ms Fox made lists as the one-to-watch for Teen Vogue, T Magazine and Style.com, and appeared on numerous catwalks at Fashion Week.
The young model has been seen doing designers like Marc Jacobs, Coach and Public School justice already, and we can’t wait to see who she wears next and where she’ll appear – catwalk or campaign?

5. Leomie Anderson
Ok, so she’s not a new, new face, but the British beauty made her debut as a Victoria’s Secret model just last month and is sure to soar this year following that platform.
Already having been a success in terms of starring on catwalks for other top labels, like Moschino and Sophie Theallet to name a few, Ms Anderson’s also a vlogger, providing insight into the modelling industry and her wardrobe, so we can chart her progress via social media and her video posts, too.

6. Kendall Jenner
Last year was certainly the year of the Kardashian, with all of the family making headlines for one reason or other, and with Kendall stealing the hearts of brands like Balmain and Calvin Klein, we can’t rule her out as a contender for big things this year either.
But let’s see what happens, because social media’s anyone’s game and her niece North – what with her cute face and sassy attitude – may well steal her thunder.

7. Luz Pavon
Mexican model Luz is more than just a looker, with the gorgeous girl also having founded her own fashion label and landed a role in an upcoming HBO drama by Martin Scorsese. And did we mention, she’s just 24?
The curly haired new face has starred in a few campaigns and editorials for mags like Nylon and Dazed & Confused, and we have a feeling we’ll be seeing a lot more of her on the scene, as well as on TV this year.
–
8. Lineisy Montero
Also big on the scene last year was Lineisy Montero, whose cute, cropped ‘fro, freckles and razor-sharp cheekbones blessed nearly all the top catwalks – and within her first season on the catwalk.
The new face of Chanel’s Spring/Summer’16 campaign seems to be continuing the Dominican’s flow of success into 2016 and we can’t wait to see more of her unique features this year.

9. Aya Jones
We’ve seen a lot of Aya already, since the pretty model made initial waves last year on the ramp at Prada first (for whom she also starred in a campaign), then Miu Miu, Dior and the like.
But something tells us we haven’t seen the back of the Parisian-Ivorian 20-year-old (actually, we have and it’s equally as gorgeous) and that she’ll be making more moves in 2016 to achieve real It-girl status.

10. Alexis Primous
And lastly, what of the winner of W Magazine‘s social media competition? Well, we expect great things of course and especially since she was selected out of 1000s of entries online, which were whittled down by fashion pros like editor and stylist Edward Enninful and the IMG scouting team.
The young Florida-native has been working with the best in the business and landing editorial after editorial, as well as having graced a few runways, but after a months spent learning the ropes and becoming a working model, we can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for her career.
