Uganda-born Kiara Kabukuru, the face of dutch wax company Vlisco‘s new “Bloom” collection, was first spied in the brand’s latest commercial and lookbook back in April (read about it, here) – but now the former Victoria’s Secret and bestie to Gisele Bundchen appears in a two-part behind the scenes video with an interview, released this month via Youtube.
Seen on the set of the collection’s lookbook shoot – which has Kiara draped in a range of Vlisco’s new prints and drizzled in pretty petals – the once Vogue cover girl talks of her favourite fabric from the range, as well as a little bit about how the backstory to “Bloom” resonates with her, saying;
“The inner child, inner girl… the blooming and how as adult women we still have that inner playful, vulnerable girl – it’s been fun evoking that
…There’s so much power in accepting that part of yourself and knowing how deep down your really are still this child. It’s nice to see that this is (Vlisco’s) concept for their launch.”
In the video we also see a bit of how the brand’s brilliant, whimsical lookbook came together and get jealous over how stunning Ms Kabukuru looks in moving image, too.
