Following last year’s collaboration with rapper Kendrick Lamar, Reebok have revealed a slick new ad with the talent, to showcase his new pair of trainers designed with the brand.
Directed by Colin Tilley, the ad shows off the new Kendrick Lamar Classic Leather kicks, and sees Kendrick delivering a dose of spoken word as he wanders round an empty mansion.
Speaking of his decision to work with the brand, Kendrick previously said;
“Reebok has a history of helping kids in the community realise their potential is limitless. I saw what the brand was doing, and I wanted to be a part of it and make it even stronger. It’s as simple as that. Kids that listen to my music are looking for inspiration. It’s important that I continue that message in anything I represent.”
Within his empowering and honest prose, the rapper says in the ad;
“From the very heart of me, belief becomes action and no distractions will take my eyes off the prize. Greatness is my goal, but there is failure on the way.
Full of insecurity, self hate, and doubt. But what I can’t control can’t confine me. And what I can’t do can’t stop me.
This is how I express myself, not how I follow others expectations but how I stay true.”
