#WeekendWardrobe: Be Sleek in All Black like Eku Edewor, Beyonce & Sevyn Streeter

Fashion weeks (and weekends) are taking place all around the globe, with designers and fashionistas in fabulous attendance – meaning this is the time to showcase your stylish side. And, there is one trend that you certainly can’t go wrong with wherever you’re heading this weekend, and it’s head-to-toe black.

The great thing with wearing an all black ensemble is that you can mix and match textures such as leather, lace, silk, satin, wool and more, plus, the dark shade is suitable for nearly all occasions, from shopping to clubbing, and can be dressed up or down.

Some of our favourite celebrities have been photographed posing in ‘all black everything,’ showing us that anyone can pull off the style at any event;

Media personality, actress and model Eku Edewor went for a sports luxe look to the Conversations with Lisa dinner, hosted by fashion designer Lisa Folawiyo in Lagos. The trendy 53 Extra presenter wore a black short-sleeved cropped blouse and complimented it with black leather track pants, which made her outfit pop. She finished the look with a pair of black heeled sandals with silver detailing and black earrings, and we just  love how she played with texture here. Top marks!

Over at the MTV VMAs, which took place last month, Beyonce (who needs no introduction) was pictured on the red carpet in a black sheer gown by Nicolas Jebran. The dress, which featured beautiful black embellishment, looked astounding on the star and flattered her curvy figure. As if that was not enough, Queen B also wore dazzling Lorraine Shwartz accessories and left down her signature blonde-brown hair, for a glamorous finish to the look.

Lastly, earlier this year, recording artist Sevyn Streeter attended the Warner Music Group annual Grammy party, sporting a black mesh midi dress. The beauty was nothing short of sexy in the partly transparent look, which displayed a little cleavage action and to add some sophistication to the outfit, the R&B singer rocked a sleek ponytail, bold pink lips and a bejewelled necklace. Stunning!
