#WeekendWardrobe: Pose in a Peplum like Omotola, Jennifer Hudson & Liz Yemoja

If you want to look sweet and dare we say sexy, this weekend, why not rock peplum? The ruffled style that sits on the waist will accentuate your hips (in a flattering way, we promise) and help flaunt your feminine frame.

The 1930’s trend which made a popular comeback in 2012 has been going strong ever since and has proved to be a favourite on and off the red carpet, too, with many household names frequently caught wearing the frilly design in various locations.

After studying or working Monday to Friday, the weekend is a good time to relax and/or party, right? So why not do this whilst looking effortlessly chic and posing in a peplum like some of our favourite celebrities, below;

One of the most prominent names in Nollywood and Africa, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde went for a flirty formal look to a fundraising dinner for the youth-led organisation, Enough is Enough Nigeria. The beautiful actress, who was named one of Time Magazine’s most influential people in the world in 2013, wore a gold and red capped sleeved peplum top that sat flawlessly on her curvy figure. She complimented the look with a black midi skirt, heeled sandals and bold earrings and obviously, we adore the results.

On the other side of the globe we have R’n’B diva, Jennifer Hudson who stunned in a ¾ sleeved, short, white peplum dress at the BET Honors in Washington earlier this year. The dress, which featured a low V neckline and showed off some cleavage, definitely must have grasped the attention of those on the red carpet – and with her edgy haircut and bold red lips, she certainly caught our gaze, too.

Lastly, looking extremely pretty in pink is Liz Yemoja, the radio presenter and online editor for Genevieve Magazine. The beauty sported a sleeveless, bubblegum pink, peplum midi dress and pink platforms for the Genevieve Magazine and Veuve Clicquot “Fashion & Style Day Out” event, to which she also donned a navy blue fascinator with embellishments that balanced on her straight long locks. #Gorgeous!
