Summer has drawn to a close and as Autumn approaches, dressing for the current climate can be extremely tricky. However, with fashion weeks storming the globe right now, we’ve noticed a certain style piece that will keep you on trend, no matter the weather: a full skirt.
A versatile option for many occasions, a feminine, refined skirt is certainly a garment you should consider wearing this weekend, with its lightweight, flirty design giving you plenty of space to move freely, whilst looking both effortless and elegant at the same time.
And our favourite celebrities seem to agree too, as they’ve been spotted wearing full skirts all around the world and showing us how it should be done;
Nigerian TV personality, Yvonne Ekwere attended The Future Africa Awards Nominees Reception in July this year, looking pretty and playful in a black and white full skirt. The piece, which had a black base and a white polka dot print, gave the star’s overall look an 80’s retro feel, and teamed with a ¾ sleeve top, strappy sandals, a small clutch and a high bun hairdo, we couldn’t help but be in awe of this look. Classic!
Next and also rocking a full skirt was model Eva Pigford, who was spied looking stylish at a Pre-BET awards party in LA. Way ahead of the curve, Ms Pigford wore this look 2 years ago, showing up to her event in an Ankara style full skirt, along with a white high neck crop top, sandal heels, hoop earrings and sunglasses around her neck. The star jazzed up her appearance with bold red lips and short blonde hair,resulting in a colourful and cool ensemble that still looks pretty current. #LoveIt.
Last but certainly not least is newlywed actress Gabrielle Union who stopped by Bravo TV’s show Watch What Happens Live to promote the movie Think Like A Man 2. The gorgeous star wore a full skirt and printed crop top from the Lela Rose Pre-Fall’14 collection and complimented it with Stuart Weitzman heels. We just adore how Ms Union – or should we say, Mrs Wade – played with prints here and will be aiming to emulate this look this weekend.
