Beautiful singer and actress (the lead of Disney’s new show, K.C Undercover), Zendaya Coleman has been named on Paper Magazine’s annual Beautiful People list – a rundown of people to watch, according to the publication, that has been revealed every April for nearly 20 years.
And are we at SPICE surprised? Hardly – not when the 18-year-old stunner is regularly stepping out in the best forms of dress, including her faux loc look which E! News presenter Giuliana Rancic controversially threw shade at (read about that here), and even her recent co-ord ensemble, which made our Wardrobe Roundup this week (see that, here).
In an interview with the mag, Zendaya talks on style, saying;
“I think that fashion – contrary to some people that believe in trends, I believe in honestly, wear whatever you want, whatever makes you feel comfortable. I believe in confidence and just dressing for yourself. So me, I never have ever really worried about what people thought based on what I dress like. If you leave the house and you feel good, that’s all that matters. I think that’s what fashion is about: expressing yourself, whether you wear the hottest, most expensive designer or you wear something from Target or something you made, as long as it’s fly and you like it.”
On the labels she’s currently loving, the star reveals;
“I love Fausto Puglisi. He’s also the head designer of Ungaro, and I wore an Ungaro dress to the Grammys. I’ve been able to meet him and he’s a wonderful person, so that was really cool for me. Vivienne Westwood is so fun, and patterns that are so different – she’s a legend, so I love working with them. Who else? I love DKNY – I love their campaigns and how they really celebrate different kinds of people. It’s very inspired by urban culture, which I like.”
Others that made the list include Ethiopian rising pop star Kelela, Beyonce and Solange’s fave designer, Harbison plus models Corey Baptiste and Aya Jones, but we’re especially impressed to see Ms Coleman styled by Dana Goldenberg and lensed by Albert Sanchez for the mag, showing her hair slicked back, and her lipstick matching the hue of her dress.
Take it all in and share your thoughts on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram @SPICETVAFRICA, and us know if Zendaya Coleman made your list of Beautiful People Class of 2015, just like she did for Paper Magazine.
